Google's new approach to website security - Coolhorsesocks.co.uk is compliant
A major priority for Google is ensuring that users can browse the web safely, and one example of this is the green "padlock" icon that appears in the address bar of Google’s Chrome browser when the website you visit is protected with a Security Certificate.
Historically, non-secure sites – those using HTTP instead of HTTPS – haven't been explicitly flagged to users; however as of January 2017 that will change, and users will be alerted by Chrome when they visit sites which are not protected. In most browsers the green padlock is a good indication of security.
Our coolhorsesocks.co.uk site is hosted by one of the world's largest e-commerce engines Big Commerce and they/we are fully compliant as once you decide to purchase you enter our cart, the cart is protected in line with google policies with the green padlock HTTPS platform. Up until you decide to buy you have only browsed the products, only when you decide to buy do you need to enter details and at that point you are protected with the https protocol.
So in your browser you should see this to indicate a secure connection.
If in doubt call Katie on 0116 2841558 and she will help you.
Cheers
